What is dental bonding?

Dental bonding is a cosmetic dentistry procedure that uses a composite resin that Dr. Mark Shalaby or Dr. Mike Shalaby hand-shapes and stains to restore your smile.

What does dental bonding treat?

Like veneers, bonding enhances the appearance of already structurally-sound teeth. Bonding can treat:

  • Chipped tooth
  • Decayed tooth
  • Fractured tooth
  • Discolored tooth
  • Slightly gapped teeth

It is important to note that serious or complex tooth damage cannot be sufficiently treated with bonding. We will work closely with you to make sure that you choose the most appropriate restoration procedure for your oral health and your budget.

Is dental bonding worth it?

Dental bonding is a more cost-effective alternative to procedures like veneers and crowns. Although composite resin tends to stain more easily and is not as strong as porcelain, bonding is still a great option for a lot of people.

At Paradigm Dental, we are committed to making sure you have all of the information you need to make the most informed decisions about your oral health.

  • Painless and non-invasive
  • Minimal tooth preparation
  • Quick procedure to complete
  • Most cost-effective cosmetic procedure

What to expect during your procedure

One of the best parts about choosing tooth bonding is that it doesn’t take much time to complete. Your dentist at Paradigm Dental can typically complete multiple teeth in a single visit. At the beginning of your procedure, your dentist will need to roughen the surface of your tooth, but this not like the tooth preparation that is required with veneers or crowns. Once your tooth is ready to accept the resin, your dentist will apply it to your tooth and hand-mold it to give you a perfectly customized and enhanced appearance. Once you are happy with the appearance of your tooth, Dr. Mark Shalaby or Dr. Mike Shalaby will use ultraviolet light to harden the material before polishing it.

How much does dental bonding cost?

Dental bonding is the most cost-effective procedures that you can choose when it comes to tooth restoration. Dental insurance plans typically cover or contribute to the cost of dental bonding, particularly if you are restoring a tooth structurally, like in the case of a fractured or decayed tooth. Additionally, we partner with CareCredit and offer in-house payment plans to help ensure that you get the care you really need at a price you can afford.
